Does Textshine replace journalistic proofreading?
In everyday editorial work, Textshine is intended as a supportive proofreading tool. It complements your existing expertise to create space for human creativity and editorial care. For editors, this means they no longer have to proofread for spelling errors and thus get more time for research and writing. For proofreaders, this means they can focus on more challenging aspects of their work: content review and stylistic revision, which are essential for high-quality publications.
How does Textshine differ from ChatGPT?
Unlike general purpose models like ChatGPT etc., Textshine is optimized for spelling and grammar correction and related processes. For you, this means: Stylistic and content interventions are kept to an absolute minimum, even less common subtleties and typographic conventions are considered, and you get integration into your editorial systems/CMS, where changes are recorded and all formatting is preserved. It is also significantly faster, more secure (your data is not retained or reused!) and allows processing of texts of any length.
Does Textshine also provide writing assistance?
No. Textshine only corrects spelling, grammar, punctuation and typography. Textshine does not alter your wording and does not offer suggestions for content or stylistic improvements.
What happens with proper names, jargon and colloquial language?
Unlike other programs, Textshine is able to correct proper names, jargon and colloquial language like any other text. You don't have to manually enter these words into a dictionary.
What about data security?
Your texts are transmitted in encrypted form, processed only to complete your order, and irrevocably deleted immediately afterwards. We have a strong focus on trustworthiness and were awarded extensive funding as part of the AI Mission Austria of the Austrian federal government. More →
